We learn every day! We have made mistakes, and it will happen again, but what drives us, and what we want to share here, is our quest for a useful product, carefully designed, to bring you maximum pleasure and protection while significantly reducing its impact on our planet.
What we know today is that the perfect product does not exist!
By becoming a player in the cosmetics industry, we are aware that we are both part of the problem and the solution.
As there is no label or official definition of clean beauty, we have developed an internal charter to explain our beliefs and our biases in terms of formulation, packaging and more generally for a better understanding of our actions: “Mother Earth Approved”.
Our desire is to be transparent and clear in our search for balance between efficiency, naturalness, eco-responsibility and solidarity.
Efficiency
Protection and hydration are the key words of our product development. Combining performance and sensoriality while avoiding the marketing promises of what we could call “bullshit beauty” is our mission. Adding a dose of fun and education by not exploiting fear marketing to offer you effective and desirable products for the whole family is also important.
A formula is not just a blacklist!
Naturalness
All our products are between 80% and 100% natural. 100% natural or organic with certification is not the ideal answer for everyone.
In Europe, the legislation is the safest in the world in terms of cosmetic products, despite this, it is not always easy to disentangle fact from fiction. At SeventyOne Percent, we have chosen a modern approach, without cosmetophobia, we always favor ingredients of natural origin or organic active ingredients but do not ignore synthetic alternatives when these bring us a real advantage while remaining uncompromising on our biases.
For example, our choice of solar filters is made in a reasoned manner, we have chosen to offer a short range where each use will find a suitable formula. If mineral filters such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are often favored, we do not exclude the use of certain chemical filters identified today as “clean” and which offer a different spectrum of protection or sensoriality. more suited to the product function (as for hair care).
Despite everything, we have chosen not to use many chemical (or organic) filters such as octocrylene, homosalate and benzophenone as a precautionary principle.
Eco responsibility
Let's limit our impact and eliminate the superfluous while offering desirable products at the right price.
Our approach is global and we are faithful to our convictions at the risk of losing a certain “glamor” or marketing advantage which would appeal more widely.
We arbitrate each of our decisions with the most in-depth CSR approach possible.
For our packaging of all types, we systematically use recyclable materials. Our tubes are partly composed of PCR plastics (product cycle recycle: recycled milk bottles), the best alternative on the market currently in terms of impact and life cycle.
We have chosen to remove 80% of our secondary cases and never make samples or single-use products to promote our brand.
Our logistics approach is a challenge for years to come and we have already chosen to only use boxes labeled “sustainable development” and also standard: why increase our environmental impact with specific SeventyOne Percent packaging when will it be torn up and thrown away? We choose common sense!
Solidarity
Our commitment is in our name, SeventyOne Percent - this 1% is above all the symbol of our commitment, of our desire to give meaning to our actions.
How can we promote our involvement and our commitment when the possibilities for financial contributions are not yet significant?
Beyond the figures, we hope to be able to unite and raise awareness among an ever-widening audience around initiatives such as beach cleaning, child sponsorship and the development of a more balanced and fair consumer perspective on what is “a good product”.
Most of our associative energy is today intended for the NGO Vision du Monde. VDM's action focuses on children and access to drinking water as well as the PURE Océan association.
Because children are the most vulnerable in emergency situations, our duty is to raise awareness in our community of the importance of access to drinking water to help directly finance projects that respond to these issues for a safer world. just. Zero Plastic Inside
SeventyOne Percent's mission is to protect your body like its playground: nature. With the “Zero Plastic Inside” label, we want to reduce our impact on the environment as much as possible.
We do not have any plastic particles in our compositions. The “Zero Plastic Inside” label is certified by the “Plastic Soup” foundation.
With our recycled and recyclable packaging, we fight against pollution in the Oceans.
At SeventyOne, all our packs are eco-responsible. In 2020, we eliminated 80% of our use of cases and took advantage of the ThinWall and Slim Cap innovation to reduce our use of plastic by 45% on already 2 references.
The plastic in all the tubes is PCR “Post-Consumer Recycled plastic content”, plastic composed in part (55%) of recycled milk bottles.
